The origin of the name: Cap Cana Its name derives from the French “cap” meaning “cape,” because of its location on the chain of capes of “La Majagua,” between Cape Engaño and Cape San Rafael. “Cana”, because of the large number of these palms trees growing on the project. From there comes the name Cap Cana.
